“I hope the conversation around skin conditions will be a louder, more widespread one” & acne Q U E T TA L AWS O N Content creator and makeup mogul Quetta Lawson (@quettalawson) first experienced acne at the age of 14. “The main causes of acne are hormonal, because the hormones help control our oil production and the makeup of our skin,” Dr Luke explains. Although Quetta confesses acne can be tough, she won’t let it hold her back. “I get down about my skin sometimes as I’m only human! But being able to talk about my skin struggles on TikTok is so empowering. It helps me to educate about acne and give others with skin problems a voice.” Quetta also spotlights scope for change in the beauty sphere. “I don’t think there are words to describe how important it is to show real skin texture and conditions in mainstream media. I hope the conversation around skin conditions will be a louder, more widespread one.” INSIDE OUT
