Glycerin is a natural humectant that’s found in many curly hair products, known for its ability to reduce the loss of moisture. Particularly beneficial for dry, thick or course strands, glycerin helps to strengthen hair by improving hydration, in turn reducing breakage and damage. Also packed with moisturising properties, the ingredient works to regulate oil production in the scalp, creating a healthy environment for hair to grow. Co-washing is a technique involving cleansing the hair with conditioner as an alternative to shampoo. This helps to minimise stripping curly hair of its natural oils and retain moisture. Note, using an ordinary conditioner is not the same as co-washing, so choose a conditioning cleanser. Co-wash hair once or twice a week by soaking your curls in water and massaging the cleanser into the scalp to rid any build-up or impurities. Leave in for a few minutes for a deeper cleanse, then rinse and finish with your usual conditioner. Go for glycerin Co-Washing is Key BLACK HISTORY MONTH
